Weather
We are sitting at the dock waiting out the weather..... It's that time of year when the weather becomes unpredictable, right now there are gale force winds and big seas, up to 18 feet, forcasted for Friday and Saturday.  Waiting for an update to see if we can get out on Sunday.  There have been some good reports off shore a ways but I don't want to get stuck out there in bad weather.  We just have to wait it out

At the Dock
We hit the dock yesterday morning at 6 AM with 155 fish for the trip.  We managed to fill all orders with 14 fish left, it was easy to find a buyer for those.  Our average weight was 18 pounds per fish!!!!  If you can't catch very many, better to have them be hogs.  Weather has come up so we are planning on one more trip next week, hoping to leave Tuesday.  It's a gamble but the warm water is still pushed in so I gotta give it one more shot.  I know it won't be a huge trip but there are still people interested in getting some fish and if I can come in with a couple hundred big fish it would be a nice ending to the season.  I also need some fish for my family because we have been out of canned tuna for several months and my kids are starting to protest!!

Slow Fishing
Ended yesterday with 25 fish.  Today was better, we have 41, our goal was 45 so just short.  They are about a 16 pound average, nice fish.  I am  going to get the gear in the water  before dawn tomorrow, might do better.  We saw a turtle today, had his head about 2 feet out of the water, couldn't catch up to it to get a picture.  Taryn went on deck this evening and did a "tuna dance", we are so close to filling our orders!  We did have a "15 fish in one hour" run today so we are staying put, weather is good, no swell, a few white caps.  I am relieved because I think we will be able to fill all our orders so far for this trip. Looking forward to going home!!!
