Almost a trip
only 15 fish today......worst trip ever.  We used our live bait until about 2 this afternoon and went back to jigs.  No one is really catchin except for the "lucky" guy.  I am tired of chasing radio fish so I am heading in tomorrow, should cross the bar about 6:30 tomorrow night,  Need to work on a new plan to chase these tuna down.

Another day
Well...we have 30 fish for today, weather has been good.  We have worked our way up off the Columbia River out about 60 miles, to where the bait boats are.  I am going to devote tomorrow to bait fishing.  I have been goin back and forth, jig fishing then bait fishing and the tuna are not going for the jigs.  Tonight we spent a couple hours working just with bait.  It was very exciting.  We pull in all our jigs except a couple on the oppisite side of the boat, then throw out 5-10 live anchovies.  We are using a bait pole which is a simple pole just has a line on it and a hook.  We wear a belly pad that has a notch in it for the bait pole to sit in.  Once the tuna bite, you jerk the pole and land them on the deck.  I had a 20+ pounder that I thought for sure was going to take my pole and swim away because I did not have the pole in my belly pad all the way.  I won the fight!!  I have high hopes for tomorrow!!!!  I need to ice some fish then I am going to climb out of my rain gear and hit my bunk

A better day
Ended yesterday with 61 fish.  I have moved further North and in a bit.  Seas are flat calm, nice change.  Hope today is more consistent.............I am going to try the live bait again
