Heading In
We will be heading back today after the morning bite, weather has improved over the last 15 hours and we ran into some fish yesterday late afternoon. We should hit the dock around 1am tomorrow.  Our fish count was 150 yesterday with lots of fish close to 20 pounds. We are both tired of hand pulling fish and can't wait to get the line puller fixed!

Tuesday update
We have 74 fish for today, they are running bigger this trip.  The weather is coming up and we are having to hand pull each fish because the tuna puller motor is shot.  My plan is to head in as soon as we fill the orders for this trip  Will probably be in Thursday sometime.

Resting for a labor intensive day tomorrow.
We had our gear in the water by 4:30 today and began catching right away. We ran into a problem with our line puller so we will have to shut it down for the mornings catch and pull everything in by hand. We are planning on heading further west depending on our fish count at the end of the night.

Finally
Heavy fog and poor weather kept us in yesterday but we are finally leaving today! We got fresh ice this morning and will be leaving at 9am. With such a short trip we are planning on staying about 60miles closer to shore. We are planning for a Friday delivery; orders can be picked up at the boat between 8am and 3pm.

All orders for Friday will need to be picked up by 3pm because we already have an appointment to sell the rest to the cannery shortly after 3pm.

We have a total of 1150 fish on board, 134 for today.  The fish are smaller this trip, more of a normal average, 12-13 lbs.  We will fish tomorrow then start heading in.  The morning bite will determine when we hit the dock.  Will keep you posted!  Weather still sloppy

lookin good!
We are @ 259 fish today with fish ON!!!  Yesterday we had 297 for the day.  Weather is lousy, should start coming down tomorrow.  We are at the 127.20 and 45.30.  Talk on the radio is everyone seems to be catching, scores as high as 400 fish a day.  The warm water is moving in finally, hoping to not have to go as far off shore next trip,  We will be in this trip at least a day early, maybe 2 if fishing stays hot tomorrow.

So far we have 190 fish on for the day, weather is holding but is forcasted to come up.  I expect the rest of the trip to be pretty sloppy.  We are out at the 127.20, the furthest we have been so far this season.  Hopeful the tuna continue to bite!

calling it a day
We have 79 fish for the day, we are calling it quits early, took a freak wave over the bow and wheel house and fishing isn't so great, thought it might be a good time to call it a day, time for dinner......Seas aren't bad, about 8 feet, but this one came out of no where..Looking forward to a better day tomorrow.  Goodnight
4 aug 08 @ 8:30 pm

still scouting
As of noon today we have 50 fish.  We only had a total count of 15 fish for yesterday.  They are fast swimmers and obviously on the move.  We are out @ the 127, west of the Columbia River.  There are many boats here, let's hope we get some action this evening!

slow going
We have moved North but fishing is slower today than yesterday.  The water temperature is good, 60-61 degrees.  No one is really catching today according to reports coming over the sideband.  Now it is a game of find the fish.  Weather is holding, a little sloppy, but not to bad.  Hoping to get into some fish by evening bite.

End of a long day
Today was nothing like yesterday.  That is to be expected when fishing.  We ended the day with a total of 45 fish.  Time to find a new spot.  We will run through tonight, taking 3 hour wheel watches, should put us just off the Columbia River, out about 80 miles.  Lets hope the Tuna are there!
2 aug 08 @ 10:08 pm

1 day down
we are ending the first day of fishing with 267 big fish.  There is not a boat in sight, crazy!!  Matt saw a shark today, possibly a blue shark.  I hope tomorrow is just as good, we will see.  Seas are calm.  Goodnight
1 aug 08 @ 9:28 pm

Monday Update
As of noon today, we have 106 fish on board and they are hogs, 15 to 25 pounders.  Looks like we will easily get our ton today!!  We are about 30 miles inside of last trip, that's a good sign.  Maybe the warm water is moving in finally.  Weather is good!
1 aug 08 @ 5:11 pm

Almost to our final destination
We have almost reached the fishing grounds this morning. We've already set out our gear and started catching a few fish.

Our satellite phone is working well so far; the only drawback is we only have small windows that we get service every hour. I hope this phone will allow me to keep this blog more up to date.

To give everyone an idea of our location I've included a map:
